Following SSU investigation, FSB agent who guided russian missiles at Odesa region air defence systems sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, an enemy agent, exposed in August 2025 whilst helping enemy target the Odesa region, has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The timely exposure and arrest of the spotter secured key air defence positions in the coastal region.

As the investigation revealed, the perpetrator was part of an FSB agent network, which the Service neutralised at the same time as his arrest.

The agent turned out to be a labourer from the border village of Lymanske. He came to the enemy’s attention when he posted anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram.

To liaise with the assets, his handler set up a special chatbot, through which members of the cell provided intelligence.

The aggressor state was interested in the combat positions of the Ukrainian air defence forces. It has been documented that the traitor tracked mobile fire support units of the Defence Forces whilst they were actively engaged in repelling attacks by russian drones.

The SSU arrested the spotter at his home in the border village. During the search, a smartphone containing evidence of his work for russia’s federal security service was seized.

The court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was conducted by the SSU Office in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
