Following SSU investigation, FSB agent sentenced to 15 years in prison for passing information to enemy on Defence Forces’ drone operations on russian territory
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, an agent of russia’s federal security service has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. The SSU exposed him in September 2025 while he was serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned aerial vehicle unit.
The perpetrator is a conscript from Kropyvnytskyi recruited by the enemy, who served in a strike UAV company on the eastern front while simultaneously spying for the ruscists.
According to the investigation, the agent leaked information to the FSB about the preparation of Ukrainian drone operations, including those over russian territory. This included the timing, flight routes, and approximate targets of Ukrainian drones.
The traitor also provided information to the enemy on the temporary deployment sites and movement routes of the combat unit in which he served.
According to available data, the russians used the intelligence to launch pre-emptive strikes against Ukrainian drone operators using long-range artillery and aerial bombs.
At the time of the enemy attacks, the agent received advance warning from the FSB to leave the potential strike zone.
The SSU detained the suspect while he was preparing a new portion of intelligence for the russian service. At the scene of the detention, a smartphone containing evidence of his crime was seized.
The conscript began working for the FSB in exchange for the promise of ‘easy money’ after being recruited on Telegram.
Based on evidence collected by SSU investigators, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Kirovohrad region under the procedural supervision of the Kropyvnytskyi Specialised Defence Prosecutor’s Office for the Southern Region.
