Following SSU investigation, agent of russian special forces sentenced to 15 years in prison for adjusting Smerch MRLS strikes on Kharkiv

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another enemy agent, who operated in Kharkiv at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, has been convicted to prison.

The perpetrator regularly walked around the city and covertly recorded locations and movements of the Defence Forces.

The man used a messenger app to transmit the data to a special forces officer of the ‘Rys’ rapid response unit of the russian guard, who worked for the FSB.

The occupiers needed the intelligence to carry out massive strikes on Kharkiv using Uragan and Smerch multiple launch rocket systems.

The following was seized during the search of the suspect’s apartment:

  • mobile phones and computer equipment with evidence of the crime;
  • over 400 rounds of ammunition for pistols;
  • a copy of his russian passport issued in 2018.

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under three Articles of the CCU:

  • 28.2, 111.1 (high treason, committed upon prior conspiracy, by a group);
  • 28.2, 111.2 (high treason, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy, under martial law);
  • 263.1 (illegal acquisition and storage of ammunition).

The traitor was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The SSU also established also the identity of the ‘liaison’, who passed the intelligence to the enemy. This is traitor Oleksandr Slisarenko, who joined the russian-controlled terrorist organization ‘LNR’ back in 2014.

Later, he was appointed to the special forces of the russian guard, and after the capture of Kupiansk, he was the deputy head of the russian occupation administration for ‘internal policy’.

In March 2024, the SSU notified him of suspicion in absentia and is acting to bring him to justice.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
