Based on the SSU’s evidence, another traitor, who joined russia’s occupation groupings and fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eastern front, has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars.
According to the SSU Military Counterintelligence, the militant fired automatic weapons at the AFU’s combat positions during their counteroffensive near Bakhmut.
Ukrainian defenders captured the enemy’s accomplice during fierce fighting near Klishchiyivka in June this year.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was a native of the temporarily occupied Antratsyt, Luhansk oblast. In June 2022, he voluntarily joined one of the occupation units of the Southern military district of the aggressor’s armed forces.
Appointed a rifleman and given the call sign ‘Lyonchik’, he received a uniform, body armour, a helmet, an AK-74 rifle and ammunition from the occupation ‘military enlistment office’.
The traitor was then deployed to Sievierodonetsk area to storm the Ukrainian city and neighbouring villages.
Later, the militant, as part of his occupation unit, was sent to Bakhmut area to deter Ukraine’s counteroffensive operations.
Serving the invaders, he received a ‘salary’ in russian rubles and got a russian passport.
