Following SSU investigation, traitor who guided russian missiles at Zaporizhzhia sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an agent of russia’s federal security service, who operated in the frontline areas of Zaporizhzhia region, has been convicted to prison.
The perpetrator reconnoitered the locations of Ukraine’s Defence Forces near the frontline and adjusted russian air strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia.
The enemy targets also included defence plants and bases of the AFU and the National Guard.
For the cooperation, the occupiers promised the agent a ‘position’, if the city is captured.
The man planned to join the ranks of russian, so called ‘firing squads’ to kill Ukrainian patriots.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained him as a result of a special operation in August 2022.
The investigation revealed that the enemy accomplice is a local resident who was recruited remotely by an officer of the FSB’s 5th service.
For reconnaissance and sabotage, the asset received money from the FSB to his bank card. During the searches, the card was found in the suspect’s home, along with a phone used for communication with the occupiers.
The court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law) and sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Rivne region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
