Following SSU investigation, spotter who provided intelligence to enemy on Defence Forces positions during Kursk operation sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, another FSB agent who spied on Ukraine’s northern border has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation established that he provided the coordinates of the Defence Forces stationed near Kursk operation area to the occupiers.

Using these data, the enemy prepared attacks on Ukrainian troops using bomber aircraft, kamikaze drones and long-range artillery.

The SSU detained the traitor in October 2024 during security measures in the frontline areas.

The FSB spotter turned out to be a 23-year-old native of Kherson region who had settled in Sumy region.

The individual was recruited remotely by russia’s federal security service while looking for easy money on Telegram.

To carry out the enemy assignments, the agent walked around the target area, photographed the locations of the Defence Forces, and then sent the photos to his handler in russia.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Sumy Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
