Following SSU investigation, FSB mole who guided russian missiles at AFU cadets barracks sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another agent of russia’s federal security service has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. He turned out to be a cadet at one of Ukraine’s military institutes who had been recruited by the enemy.

As the investigation established, the perpetrator was instructed by the russian service to direct a missile strike at one of the facilities of his educational institution.

The coordinates that the traitor was to provide to the enemy were the educational buildings, barracks, and training points at the institute’s training grounds and defence enterprises in the region.

Moreover, the enemy accomplice prepared hourly schedules of personnel presence at these facilities to send to his FSB handler.

SSU cyber units and investigators, in cooperation with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, detained the mole on the territory of the university while he was preparing an intelligence report with coordinates for an air attack.

The aggressor state recruited the cadet on a Telegram channel offering easy money.

To collect the intelligence, the agent covertly took photos of training facilities and defence industry production workshops, where cadets had field training.

A smartphone with evidence of working for the FSB was seized from the suspect during the search.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out with the assistance of the military institute’s command and under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
