Following SSU investigation, FSB mole sentenced to 15 years in prison for spying at Kirovohrad defense plant

Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, an agent of russia’s federal security service, who operated in Kirovohrad region, has been convicted to 15 years behind bars with confiscation of property.

As established by the SSU Counterintelligence and investigators, the enemy accomplice was infiltrated into a defense company to collect information inside its facility.

The mole’s task was to gather intelligence on the number and types of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine undergoing repair and modernization.

To do this, the agent got a job as the plant’s supply manager.

After documenting his crimes, the SSU detained the perpetrator when he was photographing secret documents of the defense company.

The traitor is a local resident who had come to the FSB’s attention before the start of the full-scale war as a supporter of ruscism.

After 24 February 2022, the man was contacted by an FSB officer and was given an assignment.

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
  • 436-2.1 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kirovohrad region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
