Following SSU investigation, mole of russian GRU sentenced to 15 years behind bars for adjusting missile strikes on his AFU brothers-in-arms
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another agent of russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’), who operated in Zhytomyr region, has been convicted to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The traitor turned out to be a mobilized serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the investigation, he adjusted russian air attacks on the locations of the military unit where he underwent combat training before being sent to the front.
The SSU Counterintelligence detained the mole in the summer of 2024, when he was preparing new intelligence for his russian handler.
The enemy agent is a native of Donetsk region, remotely recruited by a russian military intelligence officer after mobilization.
The man came to the attention of the occupiers when he posted anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram.
A mobile phone with evidence of working for the aggressor state was seized from him during searches.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
