Following SSU investigation, another FSB spotter who guided russian strikes at Kharkiv sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, an agent of russia’s federal security service, detained in Kharkiv in April 2024, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The perpetrator adjusted russian missile and bomb attacks on the frontline city. His ‘targets’ included backup command posts and training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To facilitate upcoming strikes, the agent scouted the city and its outskirts for military installations, later relaying this data to the occupiers.
The asset was in contact with an employee of the 9th directorate of the operational information department of the FSB’s 5th service.
The SSU Cybersecurity units documented the suspect’s crimes and detained him.
The investigation established that the FSB’s orders were carried out by a local unemployed man. He came to the ruscists’ attention when he left pro-kremlin comments on Telegram.
A smartphone containing evidence of his crime was seized during the search.
Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
