Following SSU investigation, railway worker who, on FSB’s behalf, guided strikes on Kharkiv region sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, an FSB agent, exposed in August 2025 in the Kharkiv region, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and confiscation of property. The perpetrator guided russian attacks at the frontline areas in the region.

The investigation established that the traitor is an employee of a local branch of Ukrainian Railways, recruited by russia.

During work trips to maintain the tracks, he tracked the locations of the Defence Forces. Upon identifying military sites, the agent marked them on Google Maps for subsequent reporting to russia’s federal security service.

He paid particular attention to Ukrainian air defence bases, specifically the combat positions of anti-aircraft missile systems, radar stations and mobile air defence groups.

In addition, on the FSB’s instructions, he travelled to Kharkiv to track recent russian missile, bomb and drone attacks on the regional centre.

The aggressor state used this data to prepare new strikes on the city.

During the searches of the agent’s home, a smartphone, which he had used to coordinate his actions with the FSB, was seized. A specially created crypto wallet was also identified, into which he hoped to receive money from his handler.

Based on evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was conducted by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
