Following SSU investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for helping russia break through to Dnipropetrovsk region’s administrative border
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, an agent of russia’s federal security service, detained in May 2025 in Dnipropetrovsk oblast, has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment and confiscation of property. He guided enemy strikes during fighting in the Novopavlivka sector, when ruscists attempted to break through to the administrative border of the region.
The investigation established that the perpetrator tracked combat positions of the Defence Forces’ mortar and artillery units, against which the enemy prepared strikes using almost all types of heavy weaponry, including guided aerial bombs.
The agent also directed russian attacks at the routes of armoured vehicles and Ukrainian ammunition depots.
The spotter turned out to be an unemployed man from a frontline village in the Pokrovsk district. To recruit him, the FSB enlisted the help of a relative of his who lives in the aggressor state and cooperates with the russian intelligence.
After the recruitment, the agent walked in the area near the front line to collect intelligence. He also attempted to ingratiate himself with Ukrainian soldiers in order to covertly elicit information from them.
In return for carrying out espionage tasks, the FSB promised to extract him to the aggressor state.
The SSU detained the perpetrator in a rented flat, where he was attempting to lay low, and simultaneously took action to protect the locations of the Defence Forces.
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
