Following SSU investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for adjusting russian missile strikes on Odesa and Zhytomyr

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another agent of russia’s federal security service, who spied in Odesa and Zhytomyr, has been convicted to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator coordinated russian missile and drone attacks on the Defense Forces, in particular on the staffs and logistics centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The investigation established that the enemy accomplice is a 19-year-old Odessa resident, recruited remotely by a serviceman of the FSB office in moscow and moscow region.

To recruit him, the russian service used a Telegram channel where the individual was looking for ‘easy money’.

Initially, the agent was supposed to carry out enemy tasks in Odesa but was later sent to Zhytomyr. There, he rented an apartment near a military unit to find out time intervals of the highest concentration of personnel and equipment at the military facility.

The russians planned to use this information to inflict maximum damage during an air strike on the military base.

The SSU foiled the occupiers’ plans by uncovering the FSB asset at the initial stage of his reconnaissance activities.

After protecting the locations of the Defense Forces and documenting the crime, the perpetrator was caught red-handed in June 2024 while spying near a restricted facility.

A phone with evidence of his work for russian intelligence was seized during searches.

A panel of judges has now found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU – high treason, committed under martial law.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
