Following SSU investigation, traitor who leaked AFU aircraft flight schedules to FSB sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, an FSB agent – whom the Service uncovered in May 2025 while he was preparing strikes against western Ukraine – has been was sentenced to 15 years in prison and confiscation of property.
As the investigation established, the perpetrator’s primary task was to identify and transmit to the ruscists the locations of operational airfields along with the schedules of Ukrainian Armed Forces combat aviation flights.
Using the intelligence, the enemy hoped to launch ballistic missile strikes against the airfields while Ukrainian military aircraft were present there.
The SSU acted preemptively and detained the agent at his home in Zhytomyr region.
Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the locations of the Defence Forces.
This time the tasks of russia’s federal security service were carried out by a local unemployed man whom the enemy recruited via a Telegram channel offering ‘easy money’.
To track the location and frequency of Ukrainian aircraft flights, he set up an ‘observation post’ with binoculars on the roof of a private home.
During the search, a smartphone containing evidence of his contacts with the FSB and the equipment he used to collect intelligence were seized from the suspect.
Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Khmelnytskyi Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
