Following SSU investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for leaking Izium defenders’ positions to enemy
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, an enemy agent, detained by the Security Service in September 2025 in Kharkiv region, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. The perpetrator guided enemy fire at the Defence Forces in Izium sector.
Among the aggressor’s priority ‘targets’ were the bases and movement routes of units of Ukraine’s Third Army Corps.
The convicted man is a local labourer recruited by the enemy. On his own initiative, he contacted the administrator of a Telegram channel set up by russian intelligence services to gather data on the deployment of Ukrainian troops.
It has been documented how the agent walked in the area and marked the geolocations of Defence Forces personnel and equipment on Google Maps.
The traitor also provided to ruscists the coordinates of facilities which, in his opinion, could be used by Ukrainian defenders as depots and repair bases.
He sent the gathered data via a messaging app to his handler in russia in the form of screenshots of digital maps with marked ‘targets’, along with photographic and video evidence.
A smartphone containing evidence of his reconnaissance activities and contacts with the enemy was seized during the search.
Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was conducted by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
