Following SSU’s investigation, ‘chief of financial unit’ and other collaborators from russia’s ‘ministry of internal’ in Kherson region face 15 years behind bars

The SSU has collected substantiated evidence proving the guilt of another five enemy accomplices in the temporarily occupied part of southern Ukraine.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, they voluntarily joined the ‘main directorate of the ministry of interior in Kherson region’ established by the aggressor.

There, they were appointed:

  • head of financial unit;
  • staff inspector;
  • inspector of Suvorov district unit;
  • operative of the criminal police department for juvenile affairs;
  • duty officer of the temporary detention facility.

While in their ‘positions’, the offenders carried out moscow’s tasks to spread kremlin regime and suppress the resistance movement in the region.

The investigation established that during Kherson’s occupation they had taken part in ‘raids’ on homes of local residents, whom they tried to involve in cooperation with the enemy.

In case of refusal, they threatened to use violence and destroy victims’ property.

During Kherson’s liberation, the collaborators fled together with russian occupiers to the left bank of the Dnipro.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the offenders of suspicion of collaboration (Article 111-1.7 of the CCU).

The indictment has been sent to court. The accused face up to 15 years of imprisonment.

The SSU is acting to bring the offenders to justice.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the SSU Main Investigation Directorate with the support of the SSU Department of National Statehood Protection and the Internal Security Department of the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
