Following SSU investigation, traitor who guided russian missiles at Prydniprovska TPP and hunted for air defence systems sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another agent of russian military intelligence, who operated in Dnipropetrovsk region, has been convicted to prison.

The perpetrator was performing the aggressor’s task to adjust missile strikes on Ukraine’s military and energy infrastructure.

The enemy’s main target was the Prydniprovska thermal power plant.

To help russia hit Ukrainian targets bypassing the air defences, the agent tried to identify combat positions of the AFU anti-aircraft missile systems.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained the spy in January 2023 when he was conducting reconnaissance.

Following an investigation by the SSU, the court sentenced the enemy agent to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the convicted man was in charge of logistics at a local pharmaceutical company. The occupiers recruited him through a popular messenger app, where he posted anti-Ukrainian comments.

The traitor collected intelligence while delivering medicines to local pharmacies.

During the searches of his apartment, the SSU seized mobile phones with evidence of his communication with a handler from the GRU (the main directorate of the general staff of the russian armed forces).

After the SSU’s investigation, the court found the enemy agent guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
