Following SSU’s investigation, traitor who ‘guided’ enemy missiles at targets in Cherkasy sentenced to 10 years in prison
The SSU continues systemic work to hold traitors and collaborators to account. Following SSU’s investigation, court sentenced to ten years in prison the traitor, who passed information to the enemy on locations and movements of Ukrainian troops in Cherkasy region.
The woman paid special ‘attention’ to location of fortifications and concentration of military equipment of Ukrainian Defence Forces.
In March this year, the SSU detained the spy when she attempted to pass intelligence to the aggressors.
According to the investigation, the agent is a resident of Cherkasy, who from the beginning of the full-scale invasion collected information, photographed Ukrainian defensive facilities, described them and transmitted the data to russians by Viber messenger app.
The occupiers used the obtained intelligence to prepare missile strikes on targets in the region.
In addition, the enemy accomplice disseminated propaganda messages in the Internet in support of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and changing of its territorial borders.
Basing on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty of crimes under Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law);
- 110.2 (trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).
The SSU Office in Cherkasy region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
