Based on SSU investigation, collaborator with occupying russian internal affairs ministry sentenced to 13 years in prison

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, a collaborator who worked for the aggressor state within the ranks of the occupying ‘russian ministry of internal affairs’ in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

The SSU detained him in August 2025 in western Ukraine, where he had arrived as a displaced person to resolve family matters.

The perpetrator attempted to enlist in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hoping to evade justice.

The Security Service exposed the collaborator at an early stage and detained him at a hospital, where he had hoped to lay low under the guise of receiving treatment.

According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a resident of the temporarily occupied Mykhailivka community in Zaporizhzhia oblast. After the occupation of the settlement, he joined the ranks of the invaders.

There, he was appointed a ‘patrolman’ for the so-called ‘district department of the russian MIA’. After joining the occupying authority, the collaborator received a weapon, a uniform, and a russian ‘ID’.

The perpetrator carried out tasks for the russian federation aimed at persecuting members of the resistance movement in the region.

The ‘patrolman’ also participated in repressions against local business owners: he threatened those who refused to operate under russian law with abduction and imprisonment.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region in cooperation with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Zaporizhzhia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
