Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences russia’s informant who adjusted fire at Ukrainian troops in Donbas to 9 years in prison

The enemy agent, detained by the SSU in Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, was sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment. The woman passed information to the enemy on location and movement of the units and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas.

The court confirmed the evidence collected by SSU investigators, in particular, the facts that she provided to the enemy:

  • coordinates of a Ukrainian ammunition depot near Pokrovsk;
  • information on the number of Ukrainian Defence Forces in the area and on
  • the route of movement of a military convoy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

By her actions, the spy endangered the lives of a large number of Ukrainian servicemen. Only due to a prompt response, the unit changed its position in time.

The informant was sentenced to 9 years in prison and was found guilty of crime under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine).

The SSU Office in Ivano-Frankivsk Region carried out the operation to detain the agent jointly with the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
