Following SSU investigation, collaborator sentenced to 13 years in prison for passing coded messages about AFU deployment near Pokrovsk to enemy
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an enemy informant who operated in Donetsk region has been convicted to 13 years in prison.
The woman passed the geolocations of Ukrainian strongholds and firing positions near Pokrovsk to the invaders.
The aggressor was interested in the areas with concentration of the AFU personnel near a road, key for logistics between the city and the front line.
The traitor sent the information to the russian intelligence through a ‘liaison’ – a militant of russian occupation groupings fighting on the eastern front.
She used a pre-arranged code to secretly communicate with the occupier. For example, one dot in the texts meant ‘yes’ and two dots meant ‘no’.
The SSU documented her reconnaissance activities and detained her in March 2023.
The investigation revealed that the enemy accomplice was a resident of Pokrovsk district who published anti-Ukrainian posts on russian Telegram channels.
Due to this, the enemy noticed and recruited her remotely.
During the search of the suspect’s home, a mobile phone and a computer used by her to communicate with the militant were seized.
The court found the accused guilty under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration) and sentenced to imprisonment and confiscation of property.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
