Following SSU’s investigation, property of Medvedchuk’s wife seized in Lviv region
In Lviv region, 3 plots of land worth total of over UAH 2 mln (USD 49,000) have been seized in Lviv region at the SSU’s initiative.
The investigation established that this land was unlawfully transferred to ownership of Oksana Marchenko, Viktor Medvedchuk’s spouse. The procedure of transferring the assets to be managed by the state is underway.
According to preliminary information, in 2009 the district state administration made an illegal decision to transfer a plot of land from state property to a private enterprise free of charge. At the same time, no changes were made in the Book of Records on State Registration of State Acts on Ownership.
To take possession of the assets ‘on legal grounds’, the entrepreneurs entered knowingly untrue information in official documents, divided the land into 3 separate plots and registered them as company property.
On the captured land in the tourist-attractive area near Stryi, the offenders began construction of tourist infrastructure facilities.
The investigators established that the ultimate beneficiary of the company is Oksana Marchenko, who is included in the sanctions lists of the National Security and Defence Council.
Skole District Court has satisfied the lawsuit initiated by the SSU regarding the seizure of the real estate.
The transfer of the seized assets to be managed by the National Agency of Ukraine for Detection, Tracing and Management of Assets (ARMA) is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Lviv Region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
