Following SSU’s investigation, Ukrainian MP notified of suspicion of high treason

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU Counterintelligence, member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleh Voloshyn was notified of suspicion of high treason.

According to the investigation, during 2020-2021 this MP assisted russia’s military and political leadership in subversive activities against Ukraine.

Among other things, Voloshyn deliberately manipulated Ukrainian public opinion in the interests of the aggressor state. In his speeches and interviews, the parliamentarian presented distorted information on military, political and social spheres of Ukraine.

This and other activities of Voloshyn prove that he intentionally acted to the detriment of Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability, defence capability, state, economic and information security.

The MP has been served a notice of suspicion under the Article 111.1 of the CCU (high treason).

Within the criminal proceeding, the SSU, jointly with the State Bureau of Investigation and under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office, is conducting investigative actions at the homes of the suspect, his relatives and connections.

The law enforcement agencies are acting to bring Voloshyn, who is currently hiding from justice abroad, to justice.
