Following SSU investigation, another three traitors who fought against Defence Forces sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, three more individuals who defected to the enemy and fought against Ukraine on the eastern front have been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment and confiscation of property.
According to the investigation, Ukraine’s Defence Forces captured the men during combat in the Pokrovsk and Kharkiv sectors.
One of the men convicted is a resident of the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk who joined the ‘DNR people’s militia’ – a group formed by russia – in 2014.
Following the start of the large-scale war, he was appointed rifleman in the 5th rifle company of the 2nd rifle battalion of the 110th separate motorised rifle brigade of the russian armed forces.
He took part in combat operations near Vuhledar and later was redeployed to the Pokrovsk sector, where he stormed Ukrainian positions near the village of Zatyshok. The militant was captured by Ukrainian defenders in September 2025.
Another convict, a native of Makiivka, was sentenced to a prison term for signing a contract with the russian ministry of defence to serve as a rifleman in the 9th motorised rifle regiment of the 18th motorised rifle division of the russian army.
While serving in the russian army, the ‘serviceman’ initially constructed fortifications in the temporarily occupied town of Bilovodsk in the Luhansk region.
In January 2026, he was sent to storm Ukrainian military positions near the village of Zelene in the Kharkiv region. However, he was soon detained by the Defence Forces.
Another traitor joined the 31st motorised rifle regiment of the 67th motorised rifle division of russia’s central military district in autumn 2025.
After training at a firing range, he was sent to storm Ukrainian positions in the Kramatorsk sector.
Less than a month later, Ukrainian defenders captured the perpetrator near the village of Zarichne.
Based on evidence, the court found the accused militants guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The investigations were conducted by the SSU Office in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
