Following SSU investigation, three russian servicemen who tortured Ukrainians in Chernihiv region are notified of suspicion

During the temporary occupation of the villages of Vyshneve, Sloboda and Lukashivka, these individuals, in a group with other russian soldiers, broke into homes of civilians and, threatening to shoot them, demanded information about location of personnel and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Receiving no answer, the invaders gave orders to subordinates to abuse civilians and directly participated in this themselves.

According to one of the victims, russian servicemen beat him with weapons and metal objects, threatened to kill his wife and son, and then poured three bottles of flammable liquid on him and threatened to set him on fire.

The other victim in frosty weather was kept by russian soldiers in an unheated warehouse, where he was abused and beaten. Russians kept his elderly mother in a cargo compartment of a car. The invaders also took the man’s car and used it to transport property looted from locals.

The aggressors’ ill-treatment of civilians in the occupied territories was confirmed by numerous testimonies from witnesses and victims who identified the war criminals in photographs.

These individuals have been, in absentia, notified of suspicion under Article 28.2, Article 438.1 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war, i.e. ill-treatment of civilian population in occupied territory with prior conspiracy by group of persons). The identities of other russian servicemen involved in crimes against civilian population of Ukraine are being established.

The SSU investigators documented the crimes under procedural supervision of Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
