Director of Russia Today to be tried basing on evidence collected by SSU

The SSU has completed a pre-trial investigation into Anton Kuznetsov-Krasovskyi, director of the russian propaganda TV channel RT.

On numerous occasions, he repeatedly used all media platforms available to him to publicly call for the genocide of Ukrainians, elimination of Ukraine’s independence and overthrow of its constitutional order.

SSU investigators have gathered an exhaustive evidence base to bring the propagandist to justice.

In particular, the investigation documented that Kuznetsov-Krasovskyi repeatedly spoke negatively about:

  • Ukrainians as a nation;
  • the existence of Ukraine as an independent and sovereign state.

In his publications on YouTube and Telegram channels, he calls on the russian authorities to physically destroy Ukrainians: ‘Guys, it’s obvious that we need to pull ourselves together. We have to stop thinking about ‘brothers’. They’re not our brothers. I grew up there, I speak from experience: Kill them! Come on! That’s enough!’

Kuznetsov-Krasovskyi not only spread anti-Ukrainian propaganda on air of the TV channel, but also created his own videos such as ‘B*tch, this country shouldn’t exist!’, emphasizing the need to conduct the so-called ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation within the criminal proceedings, initiated under Article 442.2 of the CCU (genocide, public calls for genocide, as well as production of material with calls for genocide with the purpose of distribution or distribution of such material), has been completed. The indictment was submitted to court.

The SSU carried out the pre-trial investigation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
