After SSU’s investigation, another 5 traitors, including sniper who shot Ukrainian soldiers in Sievierodonetsk, face trial
The SSU has collected evidence and submitted case files to the court on another five traitors who fought against Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
At the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, they lived in the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
The men voluntarily joined the occupation units of russia’s Southern military district.
In the ranks of russian troops, the perpetrators stormed Ukrainian cities on the eastern front and installed fortifications, including the ‘dragon’s teeth’.
In February 2024, they were taken prisoner by Ukrainian defenders during battles near Avdiivka, Maryinka and Bakhmut.
One of them is a sniper of an enemy unit who fired at Ukrainian positions in Sievierodonetsk in June 2022 and later fought in Donetsk region.
Another militant was an evacuation medic of the occupiers’ medical platoon, but soon took a course on urban warfare tactics.
He was appointed commander of an assault unit and transferred to the village of Bilohorivka on Kramatorsk direction.
The other three militants took part in the human wave or ‘meat’ assaults on Avdiivka and Maryinka and Rubizhne.
The SSU has notified them of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1, 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The suspects face life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
