The SSU has gathered irrefutable evidence of guilt of another 56 members of the russian state duma who facilitated the seizure of a part of Ukraine’s eastern regions.

On February 15, 2022, they supported a resolution to appeal to the russian president, asking to recognize the ‘independence’ of the temporarily occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

And on February 22, 2022, they voted to ratify the ‘treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance’ between the aggressor state and the terrorist organizations ‘L/DNR’.

The next day, on the basis of the adopted ‘agreements’, the terrorist leaders appealed to the russian president requesting ‘armed assistance’.

In this way, the kremlin used these decisions as a formal pretext to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine and justify armed aggression.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators notified the russian MPs of suspicion under Article 110.3 of the CCU (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability).

The SSU has now completed the investigation and submitted indictments to court.

The officials are facing up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Comprehensive measures are underway to bring the offenders to justice for crimes against Ukraine.

The SSU Offices in Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia regions carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
