Following SSU and SBI’s investigation, former gauleiter from Kharkiv region convicted to 14 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU and the SBI, a collaborator who headed russia’s occupation administration in Balakliia during the occupation of Kharkiv region has been sentenced to prison.
In this ‘position’, he imposed the kremlin regime in the city and helped the invaders to repress members of the resistance movement.
The law enforcement detained the traitor during the liberation of Kupiansk, where he was hiding from justice.
After the SSU and SBI’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 14 years in prison with an 11-year disqualification from holding positions in law enforcement.
His private property was also confiscated. This includes luxury real estate with a total area of almost 200 m², as well as a premium SUV.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a former employee of a local unit of the disbanded militsiya. At the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, the man was one of the first in Balakliya to support the enemy.
For this, he was appointed the head of the occupation ‘russian ministry of internal affairs unit’ in the then-occupied town.
Serving the fake entity, the ‘official’ was engaged in fabricating ‘criminal cases’ against Ukrainian patriots, while his subordinates were on duty at checkpoints.
Later, the collaborator was ‘promoted’ to the head of the local community.
Based on the evidence, the court found him guilty under Article 111-1.5, 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against our Ukraine.
The investigation was conducted by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
