Following SSU and National Police investigation, arsonist, who fulfilled russian orders in Kharkiv, sentenced to over 15 years in prison

Following an investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine and National Police, a russian agent who committed arson attacks in Kharkiv was sentenced to 15 years and one month in prison with confiscation of property.

The enemy's main task was to destroy Ukrainian railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) energy facilities and civilian transport. By organizing a series of arsons, the aggressor planned to undermine the internal situation in the frontline city.

The investigation has established that a 25-year-old Kharkiv resident, who was on probation for negligent injury, carried out russian orders.

The woman came to the attention of russian special services when she was looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram channels.

The occupiers ordered her to burn a local resident's car, which was parked near an apartment building, for money. The fire completely destroyed the vehicle and spread to the next car.

Later, the traitor received a new task to destroy the relay cabinet of Ukrzaliznytsia's alarm systems in the industrial zone of the regional centre.

To do this, the agent poured petrol on railway equipment at night and set it on fire.

In both cases, the suspect recorded the crimes on her phone camera for ‘reporting’ to her supervisor.

Based on the evidence collected, the court found her guilty under two articles of the CCU:

  • 113.2 (sabotage committed under martial law);
  • 194.2 (intentional destruction of property by arson).

Since the offender had an outstanding conviction in a previous case, the court added another month to her new sentence.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region together with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Sloboda District Prosecutor's Office in Kharkiv.
