Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences two enemy agitators, including administrator of ‘Kherson republic’ Telegram channel
The SSU has collected evidence on another two pro-kremlin Internet agitators who conducted information and subversive activities against Ukraine.
The offenders publicly justified war crimes of russian occupiers and disseminated calls to seize state power in Ukraine.
Based on the SSU’s investigations, the court sentenced them to 3 and 6 years in prison.
One of the enemy accomplices is a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region who in April 2022 created a pro-russian Telegram channel ‘Kherson republic.’
On this online resource, he published posts trying to discredit Ukrainian Defence Forces and calling for support of the sham referendum in the seized part of Kherson region.
The main ‘newsmakers’ and speakers of the channel were the gauleiter Volodymyr Saldo and his deputy Kyrylo Stremousov.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the agitator guilty under four articles of the CCU:
- 109.2 (actions aimed at forceful change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power);
- 111-1.5 (collaboration);
- 435-1.2 (insulting honour and dignity of a serviceman, threatening a serviceman);
- 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The other person convicted by court is a resident of Ternopil region. The man was sentenced to imprisonment for publicly disseminating calls on the Internet to assassinate statesmen and overthrow the constitutional order of Ukraine. His posts incited social network users to commit a ‘bloody coup in Ukraine’ and kill ‘all officials, judges and their families.’
The SSU Offices in Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil regions carried out the investigations under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
