Following SSU’s investigations, Ukraine nationalizes plants and agricultural holding of sanctioned russian oligarch worth UAH 2 bln
Following the SSU’s investigation, the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the claim of the Ministry of Justice to transfer enterprises owned by russian oligarchs Mikhail Shelkov and Sergey Chemezov to the state ownership of Ukraine.
The court’s decision pertains to Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant, the wholesale pipe manufacturer VSMPO Titan, the metal trading company Tai-Minerals LLC and the agricultural holding Invest Agro.
The value of the property transferred to Ukraine is at least UAH 2 bln (USD 49.6 mln).
The investigation established that Chemezov and Shelkov, who are close to russia’s military and political leadership, managed Ukrainian enterprises through the russian titanium monopoly, VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation JSC.
This company is part of the military-industrial complex of the aggressor state and is involved in production of weapons for the occupation groupings.
After the launch of the full-scale invasion, Shelkov and Chemezov wanted to hide their relationship to Ukrainian assets.
To do so, they tried to transfer the formal management of the companies to controlled commercial entities in Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions.
However, the SSU exposed the fraud, blocked it timely and initiated the transfer of 100% of the russian property to Ukraine.
The nationalization of the aggressor’s enterprises was carried out by investigators of the SSU Main Investigation Department and the SSU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure and Countering Terrorism Financing in cooperation with the ESBU and the Ministry of Justice under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
