Based on SSU investigation, former court employee convicted for helping ruscists bomb Pokrovsk

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, an agent of russian military intelligence agent (‘the GRU’), detained in March 2025 in Donetsk oblast, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation established that the perpetrator adjusted russian air strikes on Defence Forces units on Pokrovsk direction.

To guide enemy strikes, the agent recorded the coordinates of Ukrainian defenders’ backup command posts and key bridges used to transport heavy weapons for the Armed Forces.

The GRU’s tasks were carried out by a former secretary of a local court, who supported the idea of a complete occupation of the region.

To recruit the woman, the russian service used her classmate, a militant of russian armed groupings fighting on the eastern front.

Following his instructions, the asset travelled by public transport around the area near the city, recording the locations of potential ‘targets’.

After the reconnaissance, she compiled a ‘report’ for the GRU in the form of text messages with the geolocations of Ukrainian installations.

The SSU identified the traitor at an early stage of her contacts with the GRU and detained her.

A smartphone, which she used to collect intelligence and communicate with the aggressor state, was seized during the search.

Based on the Service’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
