Following SSU investigation, another five traitors convicted for fighting against Ukraine’s Defence Forces
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, five traitors who fought against Ukraine have been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The perpetrators were captured during fierce battles on Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Siversk, and Kursk directions.
One of the convicted is a 32-year-old resident of Donetsk, who first joined russia’s 112th rifle regiment and then a separate russian assault unit Storm.
As a platoon commander, he led the enemy unit during the capture of Pervomaiske in Pokrovsk sector. After that, the militant was involved in mining the area around the temporarily occupied community.
He was later transferred to Bakhmut district of Donetsk region, where he was captured near the village of New York as the only survivor.
Another militant is from the city of Makiivka, who, in the ranks of russia’s 91st rifle regiment, built fortifications near Volnovakha and then fought against Ukrainian troops near the village of Zelenivka in Novopavlivka sector.
The third convict is a 47-year-old resident of the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, who moved to moscow region, where he signed a contract with the russian ministry of defence at the military registration and enlistment office in Odintsovo.
After a short training course, the soldier was assigned as a rifleman in the 810th separate marine brigade of the aggressor state. In the ranks of this unit, he stormed the positions of the Defence Forces near Sudzha, Kursk region.
The fourth is a 28-year-old resident of the city of Shcholkino in the temporarily occupied Crimea. He was in the ranks of the anti-tank missile platoon of the 810th separate marine brigade and fought in Sudzha district.
The last one is a resident of Sorokine, Luhansk region, who, as part of russia’s 123rd motorised rifle brigade, fired artillery at Ukraine’s Armed Forces units near Siversk, Donetsk region.
Based on the investigations by the Security Service, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1, 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The investigations were conducted under the procedural supervision of Donetsk and Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
