Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, another nine militants who fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received prison sentences.

One of the convicts is a 32-year-old russian citizen who once guarded kremlin propagandist Zakhar (real name Yevgeny) Prilepin and also took part in fighting on the front lines.

Ukrainian defenders captured him as the sole survivor of an assault group of occupiers who attacked Ukrainian positions near Verkhniokamyanske in Donetsk oblast in 2025.

Prior to that, the ruscist, as part of a security detachment, regularly accompanied Prilepin during his propaganda trips to the temporarily occupied territory of eastern Ukraine.

Given his cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced the militant to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Four other perpetrators are residents of the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region who signed a contract with the russian ministry of defense. They were assigned to the 4^th and 123^rd motorized rifle brigades of the aggressor state.

As part of the occupying forces, the traitors stormed the AFU positions in Siversk and Zaporizhzhia sectors, where they were later captured by the Defence Forces.

The rest of the convicts are residents of the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region who joined russia’s 5^th motorized rifle brigade.

After a brief training, they were sent to assault Pokrovsk. During fighting near Lysivka and Krasnohorivka, the militants were captured by Ukrainian defenders.

All eight culprits have been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Based on the SSU’s investigations, the court found the accused guilty of crimes under four Articles of the CCU, according to the offences committed:

• 110.2 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);
• 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
• 111-1.7 (collaboration);
• 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist organisation).

The investigation was carried out jointly with the investigators of the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
