Following SSU’s investigation, court convicts another three militants who assaulted Ukrainian cities in Donetsk region
The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence of the guilt of another three members of the ‘L/DNR’ terrorist organizations, who actively participated in the warfare against Ukrainian Defence Forces.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, all of them joined the russian occupation groups that fought against Ukraine on the southern and eastern fronts.
The militants were captured by Ukrainian defenders during combat near Bakhmut, Bilohorivka and Pisky.
Following the SSU’s investigation, court sentenced them to 10 to 13 years of imprisonment.
According to the investigation, one of the perpetrators is a former gunner of the illegal armed formation ‘USSR Bryanka’, which is part of the 2nd russian army corps.
The other one was a grenade launcher and a scout in the so-called ‘LNR’s 4th separate motorized rifle brigade’.
Both enemy accomplices fired at Ukrainian positions in Luhansk sector from large-calibre small arms and armoured vehicles.
Another militant is a resident of Kramatorsk who joined terrorists in eastern Ukraine in 2014 and fought against ATO forces.
The criminal was in the russian-controlled groups: ‘Che Guevara Hundred’, ‘1st Slavic brigade’ and ‘Kupol’.
As a member of these formations, he stormed Volnovakha, Maryinka and fired at the AFU positions in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
The court found the former militants guilty of crimes under the Articles of the CCU:
- 110 (encroachment on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability);
- 111 (high treason);
- 258-3 (participation in a terrorist organization);
- 260 (participation in unlawful armed groups).
The SSU stresses the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine’s state security.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Luhansk regions jointly with the SSU Main Investigation Department under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office and Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
