Following SSU investigation, enemy informant who adjusted russian strikes on Poltava region was sentenced to prison

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, russian informant, who was detained in February this year for adjusting enemy shelling in Poltava region, was sentenced to a real prison term.

The investigation established that the perpetrator attempted to direct russian missile and drone attacks on the regional centre, avoiding air defence systems.

For this purpose, the suspect tracked the locations of radar stations and mobile fire groups near the city.

It has also been documented that after russian air strikes on Poltava, the informant collected data on the consequences of the shelling for the occupiers.

For that, she drove around the places where enemy “strikes” happened, took pictures of damaged buildings and sent them along with their coordinates to her supervisor.

According to the investigation, the spotter turned out to be a local resident who came to the occupiers' attention when she was looking for “easy money” on Telegram channels.

During the searches, a smartphone with evidence of her work for the enemy was seized from her.

Based on the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine, the informant was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations established in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law).

Taking into account her cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced her to 8.5 years in prison.

The investigation was conducted by the SSU officers in Poltava region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.
