Following SSU investigation, court convicts traitor who helped enemy attack Pokrovsk and attempted to flee to russia
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another FSB agent who adjusted russian airstrikes and artillery shelling on Donetsk oblast has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. Her tasks were to find and transmit to the enemy the locations of Defence Forces on Pokrovsk direction.
The SSU Counterintelligence apprehended the perpetrator in October 2024 in Kirovohrad region, where the woman had arrived as a displaced person in order to travel from there to russia.
As the investigation established, she was part of an intelligence network of russia’s federal security service in eastern Ukraine. Its members spied separately from each other but were coordinated by the same handler.
The SSU detained two participants of the cell near the front line last autumn. They were tracking the movement of Ukrainian armoured vehicles towards the front.
Another spotter turned out to be a 39-year-old unemployed woman from Pokrovsk district, recruited by the FSB.
Following instructions from the russian service, the agent identified the geolocations of fortified areas and combat positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were holding back the advance of russian assault groups.
The enemy asset then left for Svitlovodsk in Kirovohrad region, where she settled in a rented apartment and planned her escape route to russia via third states.
Her russian passport and a smartphone, which she used to contact her FSB handler, were seized during the search.
Based on evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
