Through information campaign ‘Burn the FSB-man’, SSU and National Police prevent terrorist attack in downtown Ivano-Frankivsk (video)
The SSU Counterintelligence and the National Police have prevented a large-scale terrorist attack in Ivano-Frankivsk. As a result of pre-emptive action, an attempt by russia’s federal security service to detonate an improvised explosive device in the city’s central park was averted.
The enemy’s plans were foiled thanks to a 15-year-old local schoolgirl who contacted the SSU chatbot Burn the FSB-man and reported the occupiers’ intentions to recruit her to carry out a terrorist attack.
An officer of the russian special service contacted the girl via messenger and offered her money in exchange for cooperation.
According to the occupiers’ instructions, the minor was to make an improvised explosive device, reinforce it with nuts and bolts, and hide it in a thermos.
In order not to arouse suspicion among her relatives, the FSB handler instructed the girl to assemble the explosive device in a rented apartment.
Later, the FSB ordered her to deliver the hidden IED to a city park during rush hour, when there would be a lot of people.
At that moment, the enemy planned to detonate the bomb remotely along with the minor ‘agent’.
In this way, the russians hoped not only to kill as many civilians as possible but also eliminate the ‘perpetrator’ as an ‘unnecessary witness.’
When the girl refused to take the explosive device to the city center, the russian handler began to threaten to betray her to the Security Service of Ukraine.
However, the Ukrainian law enforcement officers accompanied the teenager every step of the way. Due to this, it was possible not only to prevent the attack, but also to document the entire process of its preparation – from recruitment of the schoolgirl to the attempt to blow her up by the ruscists.
The SSU initiated criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes), all russian individuals involved in organizing the terrorist attack are being identified.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Ivano-Frankivsk Office in coordination with the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
