Following SSU’s investigation, collaborator from russia’s ‘ministry of interior Kharkiv directorate’ sentenced to 12 years in prison for repressions against Kupiansk residents
The SSU has collected evidence against another enemy accomplice who helped the invaders during temporary occupation of Kharkiv oblast.
The SSU detained him in September 2022 during stabilization activities in the liberated districts.
According to the investigation, the offender is a 32-year-old Kupiansk resident who voluntarily cooperated with the occupiers.
For this, he was appointed to the ‘directorate of the ministry of internal affairs in Kharkiv region’ established by the aggressor. There, the traitor joined the so-called ‘patrol service squad’.
As a member of this ‘squad’, the collaborator patrolled the streets of the city and participated in illegal detentions of local residents.
He ‘formalized’ each such detention under false reasons and then ‘reported’ them to the occupation leadership.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration) and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operation and investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
