Following SSU’s investigation, personal informant of russian general involved in downing of MH-17 sentenced to 12 years in prison

The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another collaborator who passed intelligence on the Defence Forces in the frontline areas of Donetsk oblast to occupiers.

The SSU detained the enemy agent in June 2022 as a result of a special operation in Kremenchuk, where the woman was trying to hide from justice.

The court has sentenced her to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the aggressor’s accomplice is a personal informant of an officer of the russian military intelligence, major general Serhiy Dubinskyi, known under the call sign ‘Khmuryi’.

Dubinskyi is involved in downing of the Boeing passenger plane on flight MH-17 in July 2014.

The SSU identified that the enemy informant, who lived in the village of Blahodatne, Donetsk region, was personally acquainted with the terrorist.

When russia launched its full-scale invasion, she contacted ‘Khmuryi’ via an anonymous messenger and offered assistance in the war against Ukraine.

On his instructions, the agent collected intelligence on locations and movements of the Defence Forces near Vuhledar, Pavlivka and Velyka Novosilka.

She passed information to the GRU on fortifications and engineering barriers of Ukrainian troops on the eastern front.

The spy also recorded videos of the consequences of russian air attacks in the area and sent the ‘reports’ to the aggressor.

Another her task was to gather and pass to the enemy personal data of members of resistance movement in the temporarily occupied territory in eastern Ukraine.

During the searches at the agent’s temporary home, the SSU found a mobile phone with evidence of her crimes.

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court found her guilty under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (providing assistance to unlawful armed or paramilitary groups established in the temporarily occupied territory and/or armed groups of the aggressor state in conducting warfare against the AFU).

The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.

The SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
