Following SSU’s investigation, Donetsk collaborator who hid in western Ukraine posing as IDP sentenced to 13 years in prison
The SSU has collected evidence on another enemy accomplice who collaborated with the enemy in Donetsk region and then fled to evade justice.
In first months of russia’s full-scale invasion, he passed information on locations of Ukrainian Defence Forces in Lyman sector to the occupiers.
However, after the area’s liberation the informant decided to flee to Lviv oblast and ‘hide’ among local population as an IDP.
The investigation established that the suspect had planned to resume contacts with the enemy, including in order to collect and pass intelligence from Ukraine’s western region.
The SSU identified the suspect’s location and detained him in late December 2022.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the accused to 13 years in prison.
According to the investigation, the aggressor’s accomplice is a resident of Donetsk region who with the beginning of the full-scale invasion began collaborating with the occupiers.
He transmitted the gathered intelligence through a ‘liaison’ - a militant of the terrorist organization ‘DNR’, who was in the temporarily occupied part of the region.

Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty of collaboration (Article 111-1.7 of the CCU).
The SSU Lviv Office carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
