Following SSU’s investigation, collaborator who scattered screws to slow down AFU convoys during Lyman battles sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another enemy informant from Donetsk oblast received a real prison term. He was reconnoitering locations of Ukraine’s Defence Forces and hindering their movement to the frontline.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained the collaborator in Lyman during stabilization activities in early June this year.

Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

The convicted offender is a local resident who was recruited remotely by the russian occupiers.

On the aggressor’s instructions, he tried to complicate the movement of Ukrainian troops during the battles for Lyman.

To do this, the traitor covertly scattered self-tapping screws on the roads used by convoys of Ukrainian military vehicles.

The enemy accomplice also collected intelligence on location of Ukrainian checkpoints and Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian Railways] facilities.

He passed the data to a ‘liaison’ - a tank company gunner of the russian tactical group Kupol, with whom he had studied at school.

The banned social network Odnoklassniki was used for communication.

During the search, the suspect’s mobile phone, which he used in the sabotage activities against Ukraine, was seized.

Based on the collected evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
