Following SSU’s investigation, FSB informant who spied on Bakhmut defenders sentenced to 10 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another enemy accomplice, who provided the aggressor state with intelligence on locations of the Defence Forces on the eastern front, has been convicted.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained the informant of russia’s FSB during counter-sabotage activities in the frontline areas of Donetsk region in January 2023.

Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced her to 10 years in prison.

The spy tried to identify and pass to the aggressor information on sites of deployment and routes of movement of the AFU’s military equipment near Bakhmut.

Investigators established that the enemy agent was a resident of Druzhkivka, Donetsk region. In July 2022, she was recruited by an FSB officer.

The communication was carried out through a messenger app, and data were transmitted as text messages and screenshots from Google Maps, where the woman marked Ukrainian targets.

During the detention, the SSU seized the suspect’s mobile phone with evidence of her passing intelligence to the FSB handler.

The court found the accused guilty under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on shipment, transfer of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, on movement, transfer or deployment of the AFU).

The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine’s state security.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
