Following SSU investigation, another three pro-russian agitators, including OPZZh deputy, convicted to prison

Following the SSU investigation, three more pro-kremlin agitators are convicted to prison in different regions of Ukraine.

The defendants praised putin, supported russia`s war against our country and glorified ruscists` war crimes.

In Cherkasy:

A city council deputy, former leader of the local ‘Opposition Platform – For Life’ (OPZZh) faction, who imposed fake kremlin propaganda on others, is sentenced to 5 years in prison.

The offender called russia`s armed aggression against Ukraine an ‘internal civil conflict’ and denied russian air strikes on civil infrastructure of our country, as well as in Cherkasy. In case of the occupation of the region, the official hoped to become the local russian gauleiter.

However, sensing the inevitability of justice, the deputy decided to flee abroad. The SSU officers exposed the perpetrator in advance and detained him shortly before he left Ukraine in early August 2022.

In Kirovohrad region:

A refugee from Donetsk region is sentenced to 3 years in prison for posting on ‘Ondoklassniki’ in support of the russian occupation groups and the russian ‘volunteers’ who helped them.

In Khmelnytskyi region:

An enemy agitator who distributed a newspaper of the ‘dnr/lnr’ terrorist organizations called ‘novorossiya’ among his friends is convicted to 5 years in prison. The offender had received the pro-kremlin newspaper from a courier from the temporarily occupied Donetsk before the full-scale war began.

Based on the evidence collected be the SSU, the court found the defendants guilty under two Articles of the CCU:

  • Article 110.1 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);
  • Article 436-2.1,3 (justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Regional Prosecutor`s Offices.
