Following SSU’s investigation, court sentences enemy agent who adjusted Kalibr missile strikes on Mykolaiv
The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence proving the guilt of another FSB informant, who operated in the frontline areas in southern Ukraine.
The traitor was adjusting missile strikes of russian Kalibr cruise missiles on Mykolaiv.
The russian informant also collected intelligence on locations and movements of the Defence Forces units in the region.
Primarily, the enemy accomplice tried to identify combat positions of artillery and air defence systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The SSU detained the suspect in early August 2022 in the course of counter-sabotage efforts in Mykolaiv oblast.
Based on the findings of the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced him to 11.5 years in prison.
Investigators established that the enemy informant was a Mykolaiv resident. In early summer 2022, russian intelligence engaged him in covert cooperation through a representative of the so-called ‘ministry of state security of DNR’.
He came to the enemy’s attention on one of the pro-kremlin Telegram channels, where he regularly justified russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
During the search, the offender’s cell phone was found, which he used to communicate with the occupiers.
Based on the evidence, the court found him guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 114-2.3 (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, movement of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, transfer, movement of the AFU or other lawful military formations, committed under martial law);
- 436-2.2, 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The SSU emphasizes the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
The SSU Office in Mykolaiv region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
