Traitor, exposed by SSU on passing information on Azov positions to enemy, sentenced to 16 years in prison
Chernivtsi Shevchenkivskyi District Court sentenced another two traitors, who had been exposed by the SSU. The accused have been found guilty and sentenced to 16 and 10 years of imprisonment for working for the occupiers.
One of them is a native of Kyiv who, until January 2021, provided his russian supervisors with information on location of the corps of the Azov volunteer battalion.
Then, he left Ukraine and worked for the enemy remotely from a country in the Middle East.
With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, russia ‘brought him back’ to Ukraine.
He was to conduct reconnaissance of the locations of fuel tanks and Ukrainian military units in Bukovina. Using this intelligence, the enemy planned to carry out acts of sabotage, including explosions at railway facilities and logistics warehouses. However, the traitor was detained by the SSU in Chernivtsi, and his accomplice - in Chernihiv.
The court found both accused guilty: the native of Kyiv was sentenced to 16 years in prison for treason and participation in a terrorist organization, and his accomplice - to 10.
The special operation to detain the agents and investigation were carried out by the SSU Counterintelligence and investigators of the SSU Chernivtsi Office under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
