SBU blocked large-scale sale of hazardous to people’s life and health counterfeit alcohol products in Dnipropetrovsk region. From warehouses of offenders was seized ready for shipment consignment of counterfeit alcohol products, for which the attackers planned to get UAH 4 million.

Operatives of the special service found that three local entrepreneurs rented in the industrial zone of Dnipro city and in one of the cities of the region 3 warehouses, where they stored counterfeit. They received counterfeit alcohol from clandestine manufacture located in other regions of Ukraine. Offenders sold counterfeit under the guise of famous brands in wholesale quantities via the retail trade in catering facilities.

During searches in the warehouses the law-enforcement officers found over 45 tons of finished counterfeit alcohol products.

In order to identify other persons involved in illegal activity, urgent investigative actions are ongoing within the framework of initiated criminal proceeding.

The circle of suppliers and customers of counterfeit is being clarified.

The operation to detect offenders was conducted under procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Dnipropetrovsk region.
