The SSU Head Ivan Bakanov congratulated the staff of the Military Medical Department of the Security Service of Ukraine on its 30th anniversary and presented awards.

‘The Military Medical Department occupies a very important place in the SSU structure. You are making every effort to ensure that our employees receive professional medical assistance in a timely manner. For 30 years, the Security Service has been taking care of the state’s security, while you have been taking care of the officers of the Service,’ Ivan Bakanov emphasized.

According to the SSU Head, this unit works as a well-coordinated mechanism despite current threats and challenges.

After the start of Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine, when hundreds of SSU officers were at the front line, the Medical Department carried out evacuation of the wounded, treatment and full rehabilitation.

Ivan Bakanov also thanked the medical staff for the massive effort in responding to COVID-19 pandemic. The Department is highly efficient in testing, treatment and vaccination of employees.  

The Military Medical Department Head Liudmyla Shugaley briefed the audience on the modernization of equipment and introduction of cutting-edge technologies in the units.    

‘Every day, hundreds of patients come to our institutions for effective prevention and modern diagnosis, quality treatment and rehabilitation in outpatient and inpatient settings. Every employee of the Military Medical Department is selflessly fighting for the life and health of patients to help them recover and come back to work and to their families,’ she remarked.
