SSU and National Police detain fsb accomplices who tried to derail Ukrzaliznytsia trains

The Security Service and the National Police detained three more fsb accomplices who were preparing sabotage at Ukrzaliznytsia facilities in Odesa and Kharkiv regions.

The perpetrators set fire to relay cabinets and tried to derail rolling stock on a strategically important railroad line.

According to the case materials, the detainees committed the crimes as they were looking for quick money on Telegram channels. However, instead of money from the ruscists, the defendants received suspicion from Ukrainian law enforcement officers.

In Odesa region:

A group that burned three relay cabinets of Ukrzaliznytsia and was preparing a train derailment was neutralized.

To commit the sabotage, the perpetrators planned to install a brake stopper on the track, which they had bought online.

SSU officers prevented the sabotage and detained two enemy accomplices red-handed when they were preparing to block the railroad tracks.

In Kharkiv region:

A 17-year-old resident of the Lozova district was detained for destroying a railroad relay cabinet and preparing for another arson attack.

All detainees were served a notice of suspicion under Article 113.2 of the CCU (sabotage committed under martial law).

The actions of the perpetrators from Odesa are additionally qualified under Article 28.3, Article 113.2 of the CCU (sabotage committed by an organized criminal group under martial law).

The offenders face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The complex operation was conducted by the SSU Offices in Odesa and Kharkiv regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Offices in Odesa region and Lozova district.
